The part of Vanderlande Industries which is in direct contact with the customers is organised into branches which preferably operate as closely as possible to the customer: the customer centres. The advantage for the customers is that they can do business in their own language and culture.
The Sales department is responsible for the process of selling material handling systems to new and existing customers. This sales process includes acquisition, analysis of the business case, translating the customer’s problem into a system concept, drawing up a detailed quotation and, finally, concluding a contract.
Project Management and Operations together are responsible for the realization of projects. This concerns, in particular, the on-site coordination and supervision of all the disciplines concerned and is aimed at the installation and integration of the system so that it becomes a working unit within the customer’s operational process. The customer is guided through the migration from the old system to the new system.
The Services department is responsible for the life cycle support of the material handling systems which have been delivered to the customer. This life cycle support includes many different aspects, such as preventative and corrective maintenance, spare parts management, hotline support, IT & controls services, training, retrofits and system optimisation.
The customer centre employees are characterized by their high degree of entrepreneurship, their independence and the wish to realize state-of-the-art material handling systems within a team.
