Title: System Engineer, R&D Engineering.
The Department
Distribution is one of the program focus areas in R&D. The mission, aligned with the DPP marketing strategy, is to realize product portfolio solutions for Fashion, Food Retail, Parts & Components and Tyres. One of the new important initiatives is the development and realization of new techniques for Compact Pick Systems. The development is spread over three Vanderlande sites: Dortmund (software house DPP), Siegen (Beewen) and Veghel. Owing to our growing success we have an opportunity for a System Integrator.
The function
The systems engineer / integrator is responsible for the integration of high-level sub-systems into a working Compact Pick System at our Innovation Centre and for the transfer of the corresponding (sub)system knowledge to R&D’s internal customers. In this role you will:
- Assess integration and acceptance risks as early as possible in projects and through pro-active and re-active actions advise the R&D project leaders on technical options.
- Create integration plans with the necessary integration tests.
- Create system tests and review systems, and (sub)system, requirements as defined by the system architect with an emphasis on testability and integration.
- Ensure that the adequate test environment for the integration and acceptance tests are delivered on time.
- Co-ordinate and contribute to the developing of (sub)systems, integration and system tests.
- Co-ordinate the necessary test cases with internal customers.
- Manage the transfer of knowledge to engineers outside R&D such as service engineers and commissioning engineers, through delivery of ‘train the trainer’ programs.
- Provide 4th line support (for R&D queries) if and when required.
Your profile
- Bachelor (Bsc.,) or Masters (MSc.,) degree in engineering (mechanical, electronics, information technology, physics or chemistry).
- Approximately 5 years relevant work experience, for example in the role of Project Leader, Lead Engineer, Service Engineer or Commissioning Engineer.
- You have worked previously in multi-disciplinary engineering projects and have broad technical knowledge.
- You are pragmatic with a hands-on approach, therefore you enjoy analysing and critically assessing concepts and contribute to turning these into real products.
- You are an excellent communicator, you are goal oriented and enjoy working in an international organisation.
- You are fluent in Dutch, preferably English also, German is a plus.
