An opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Team for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. This role will have the responsibility for control of budgets, planning and supply of full mechanical engineering activities, including all related procedures, taking projects from sales through to site delivery.
Function
-
Responsible for translating and optimising the as sold functionality in to a working mechanical design, within the budget and in consultation with other disciplines (LLC, HLC, Installation teams etc.)

Keep control of all mechanical engineering activities and protects interest of VI in dealings with customer, suppliers and sub-contractors

In consultation with Project Managers and Central Planning, creates the split-up for the mechanical materials and Engineering Planning related to the Project Master Schedule

Ensure that the mechanical system design is engineered following the relevant safety standards and CDM regulations

Creating and Recording design Risk Assessments

Identify and initiate process improvements at department level

Report and deliver input for the engineering design documentation, Latest Estimate WHI and supply the project evaluation

Initiate and lead coordination of third party supply and integration

Deliver project related drawings and models using AutoCAD/Villa etc
Your profile
-
Able to functionally manage a team of layout / mechanical project engineers

Able to look over discipline limits and accurately estimate the impact of his/her decisions

Maintain a good working relationship with customers and customer representatives and be confident in dealings with them

Able to plan all mechanical engineering related activities

Excellent knowledge of CDM and Safety regulations

Able to execute and oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously
