Question 1 of 7:

You are a sales engineer and, together with a number of colleagues and the account manager, you are busy working out a proposal for a new customer. The quotation must be sent in a couple of weeks. It is the holiday season and the account manager is going on holiday. During his holiday, the customer has a couple of questions. What do you do?

You answer the customer’s questions together with your colleagues and visit the customer several times. Despite the fact that it is the holiday season, you ensure that things are sorted out internally and that everything continues as planned. Once the account manager returns, the quotation can be sent.
You answer the customer’s questions as well as you can, but you point out where your responsibilities as a sales engineer lie and that, for some things, the customer really has to wait until the account manager returns from his holiday.
It is the holiday period so it will be difficult to get quick answers. In a couple of weeks, enough people will have returned. You tell the customer that it may take a while until the question can be answered because of the holiday season and you try to fend off any more questions.
